remember this song ???

This song has been in my head for the past couple weeks and I can't get rid of it. The lyrics spontaneously spill from my mouth at truly inappropriate times. I asked my friend (loudly) at the grocery store the other day, "how does it feel when you got no food ?" I guess no one in the store recognized my rendition and I got a few strange looks. Jeez. I love the video:

Our friends' daughter Ellie gave us three of her sunflower plants on our last visit. She had planted them herself from seed - but was happy to share a few. We put them in one of those 1/2 wine barrels and they exploded. I wish I had some "before" photos, but here's how they look now:

I assume a great majority of the sunflower plant's overall happiness comes from .......... sun. Can you guess what we've been lacking lately ???

shout out to St. Anthony...

I got a sad email from a friend at work yesterday. Her sister's two pugs were stolen when her home was burglarized in West Seattle on Monday. I know the majority of this blog's readers are not from West Seattle - but if you are, please keep an eye out for these dogs. I can't imagine the heartbreak the family is going through. Here's a photo:

Hope these two get back home real soon.

here it comes....

No - not my 19th nervous breakdown, but the tomato and cucumber bounty that is in our backyard. These past few hot days have really helped speed up the ripening process. And the plants are loaded. Hope my neighbors and co-workers are prepared for a month of "would you like some tomatoes ???"

Happy Friday

Congratulations Nels and Jennine !

We were in sunny (and slightly chilly) Sequim yesterday for our friends' wedding. It was a beautiful setting and equally beautiful day. We're so glad we got to be a part of it.

sweet Amma...

It was one year ago today that we said good-bye to our precious baby girl. We are so glad she found her way into our life and we'll never forget her.
